Brigitte at the Market

Every Saturday, begining the first Saturday of April until end of October, on Salt Spring Island, you can buy organic  local products. Around 200 vendors are coming every Saturday in Summer. It is the most famous and most attractive market in British Columbia. Local people mixed with visitors enjoy coming to buy organic food, fresh breads, goat cheeses, fresh flowers locally growing and visit the alley of artists selling jewellery, ceramics, art works.

This small market called "Market in the Meadow" is located on the park of the United Church in the middle of Ganges. It has been created by good volunteers, Cora and friends, to promote organic food on the island. At the begining, just a few vendors, local productors of organics fruits and vegetables, came every Tuesday. Now, 30 vendors with organic food or flowers, bakers animate this nice and quiet market. Begining in July, it finishes middle October.
